iDismiss Mobile App
Check In Module
This person is in charge of entering the car tag numbers into the app in the order parents arrive at the school. There could be multiple staff members involved in this process.
Check Out Module
These are the people supervising the students in the staging area (classroom, hallway, cafeteria, gym, library, etc). They will be looking at their device’s screen waiting for their students' car numbers to show up. Once they see one of their students, they "check-out" the student in the app and send them out. Additionally, this module can be displayed on a big screen for students to see as well.
Gatekeeper Module
This person's job is to be at the exit door confirming that the correct students are leaving the building. Multiple staff members would normally be involved in this process. These could also be staff placing students in the correct loading line indicated by the app, or even the ones actually loading students into their cars. Once a student is verified or loaded by the staff, the student is "dismissed" on the app, and a timestamp is placed on the student’s record.
Reset & Archive Module
At the end of each dismissal (or before the next one) this process must be run. Its purpose is to archive your dismissal log for the day, and reset all the app's screens, to be ready for the next dismissal cycle.
Closing the iDismiss App
To keep the app running efficiently, and in sync with the latest updates, it is recommended that the user closes the app completely at the end of each dismissal cycle, and reopens it in the next one.
